Happening in Pocatello: Semis Tipping, School's Out, and Underpass Dread
Recent high winds in Bannock County caused multiple traffic incidents involving semi-trucks on I-15. Authorities responded to eleven separate incidents where high winds caused the vehicles to tip over. Road crews worked through the night to address the incidents.
Pocatello High School was subject to a police investigation following a reported threat. Extra officers were dispatched to area high schools as a precaution. The threat was later deemed not credible, and School District 25 is now on winter break until January.
The city is preparing to begin the Center Street Underpass Project in early January, with an open house planned to inform residents about the upcoming construction. In more positive news, the Monte Vista to Pocatello Creek Road multi-use pathway is now complete.
In other news, The Yellowstone restaurant on West Bonneville was recently reviewed. The restaurant, located in a historic hotel building, offers an 'upscale casual' dining experience. Menu highlights include bison ravioli and fish and chips. Finally, the ISU men's basketball team lost their final non-conference game against UC Davis 93-83.
