Happening in Upland: 100 Years of Tea and The Great Paving of 2026

Upland sees a week of community engagement and city updates, encouraging residents to stay informed and participate.

The Upland Woman's Club celebrates its 100th clubhouse anniversary with an open house Tuesday, May 19, from 5-7 PM, including a ribbon-cutting at 5:15 PM. Community events also feature the "Butterflies in May" nature program (May 20-21) and the Farmers Market (Saturday, May 23, 9 AM - 2 PM), preceding Memorial Day weekend.

The city's new 'UplandConnect' app, launched May 11, streamlines reporting community needs and accessing services. Infrastructure projects continue, notably road rehabilitation on Foothill Boulevard (Benson to Reading Way) with repaving and utility updates. Hydrant lateral work on Mountain Avenue may also impact traffic. The City Council meets tonight, May 18, at 6 PM on Euclid Avenue.

In education, Upland Junior High is becoming an intermediate arts academy for young students. The U'College Academy will graduate 57 students, many first-generation college attendees, on June 3 at Toyota Arena. Local sports achievements include the Upland Highlanders baseball team's recent playoff victory and the girls' soccer team winning the Baseline League Championship.

The week's weather is forecast to be pleasant, with temperatures in the low eighties. Residents are reminded of community property safety and can explore local dining, such as The Heights Restaurant & Bar, which has received positive feedback.
